Marjorie
Ethel Danso Manu is a Statistician / Demographer by training
and practice. She was educated at the University of Ghana in the
years 1977-80; 1981-82; 1998-2005; London School of Hygiene &
Tropical Medicine of the University of London, 1984-86 and Wesley
Girls' High School 1969-76.
Her academic qualifications are M.Sc. (Medical
Demography, London) 1985; Graduate Diploma (Population Studies,
Ghana) 1982; and B.A.Hons (Statistics and Economics, Ghana) 1980.
She is currently a Senior Lecturer and Head of
the Department of Statistics, University of Ghana, where she has
been teaching since October, 1986. Her Research Interests include
Information Systems for Health Intervention Programmes,
Development and Organization of Official Statistics in
Ghana; Conceptual and Practical Problems in the Measurement of Economic
and Social Indicators; Mortality Patterns and Life Expectancy after
Retirement and their implications for Pension Funds.
She also consults for Individuals, Groups and Organizations
working on Small and Large Scale Investigations involving: Sampling
Design, Questionnaire Design, Data Collection, Data Analysis and
Reporting. She served on many Boards at the University of
Ghana and presently she is a member of four Professional Associations
namely International Union for the Scientific Study of Population,
Union for African Population Studies, Ghana Science Association,
Association of Women in Science and Technology (WIST) Ghana.
She has few publications and one book to her credit. |
